In 2011, Kate commenced her tertiary studies in music, singing with such ensembles at the UWA Winthrop Singers, Melismatica, Summa Musica and The Mapstone Choral Scholars. In 2013, Kate decided to pursue conducting, taking on her first conducting position with Voices of the Valley (2013-2015). Since then she has been the conductor of A Cappella Go (2014-2016), Churchlands Choral Society (2015-2018), the Australian Girls Choir (2015-2018), and the Mapstone Scholars (2016-2018).

Receiving mentorship  from the Australian conductors Jessica Gethin and Carl Crossin, Kate has travelled extensively to develop her skills as a conductor, including participating in the 2015 National Youth Choir of Australia conductor development program, 2015 ACCET Choral Conductors Summer School and 2015 ANCA Choralfest. 2016 saw Kate debut with the professional ensemble the Giovanni Consort for their concert Sacred and Profane, and also be awarded the position of director of music at the Church of the Resurrection, Swanbourne, where she conducted the Mapstone Scholars and two specialist training choirs for school-aged musicians. Under the guidance of Jessica Gethin, that year Kate also took part in a Conducting Masterclass with Fremantle Symphony Orchestra, and guest conducted the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. In 2017 she conducted the premiere of the chamber opera Beyond the Wall by Emma Jayakumar. 

Currently, Kate is Director of Music at St Mary's Anglican Church, South Perth, where she conducts St Mary's Chamber Choir. Kate also sings regularly with the Giovanni Consort and St George's Cathedral Choir and Consort, and in 2018 has performed alongside the King's Singers.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts and Graduate Diploma of Education from the University of Western Australia and a Bachelor of Music (Classical Voice) from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. In 2017 she completed her honours degree, where she researched the performance practice of Dieterich Buxtehude's vocal music. She is currently completing a graduate diploma in German Studies.

Kate lives in Perth, Western Australia with her husband Tim.
